Location Malaga is a city full of life, fascinating culture, Moorish history, architecture, sunny beaches, great climate, delicious food and vibrant night life. The city streets are an ideal 'studio' for the practice of street photography. Hotel The MS Maestranza Hotel is located directly between the historic centre and Malagueta Beach. The rooms have fantastic views out over the city's beaches, palm lined avenues and the bull ring. The restaurant and bar are light and airy and overlook the Cathedral. The hotel's meeting room will be our base for the week and is where we we have our briefings and reviews. Itinerary Each day, after a short briefing, you will go out into different parts of the city to take pictures. We will point out various cafes around the city where you can meet fellow shooters for lunch. In the evening we will all come together at the hotel to review the day's work. These sessions will be a mix of one-to-one tutorials and group presentations. Guest speakers will also present their work during the reviews. What to bring Participants should bring a DSLR or good quality compact digital camera. The exact specification of your equipment is not the key here. What is important is that you bring a camera that you feel comfortable with. Also please bring your laptop computer. If this is not possible then let us know so we can make alternative arrangements. You will also need your memory cards, card readers, batteries, chargers and a USB pen drive. Dates and TimesThe ‘Streets of Malaga’ starts with a welcome drink in the hotel on Sunday evening, 16th October. It will run until Friday evening, 21st October, with a final group presentation followed by tapas.
